Fitness & Wellness Class Descriptions

  • Group Fitness

    Abs
    A class concentrating on abdominal muscles with innovative abdominal exercises.

    Adult Dance
    Ballet class for adults. All levels are welcome.

    Body Blast
    An intense, total body-conditioning workout using steps, weights, body bars, tubing, bands or balls. No choreography! It will challenge each muscle group increasing muscular strength and endurance.

    Cardio Blast
    Combination of various cardio exercises including step, Hi/Lo, Circuit training, or spin with strength training.

    Chair
    Learn the basics at a slower pace with fewer repetitions. This class includes a cardiovascular workout and toning with hand weights all done in a chair.

    Chair Yoga
    A therapeutic yoga class that releases stress and leaves your body feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Traditional yoga poses are done in the chair as well as a few standing postures.

    Combo
    If variety is what you are looking for, this class is for you. The class is instructor’s choice. Each week will be a surprise. The classes are usually low impact and are great for all ages.

    Fitness Yoga
    A high intense mat class, giving your body overall conditioning by working the shoulders, arms, back, legs and abs. Class includes a final relaxation segment to release stress!

    Hi/Lo
    Basic floor aerobics with a perfect mix of high/low impact aerobic moves. Includes toning and abdominal work.

    Kickboxing
    Jump in the ring! Aerobics with a twist, shout, and punch. Movement that is cardiovascular and real boxing training.

    Pilates
    A mat class that focuses mainly on shaping and strengthening your core, or 'powerhouse,' your abs, thighs and glutes.

    RunFit
    If you have ever wanted to run a 5K, then this class is for you. Running coaches create a 12 week running routine to get you in shape to run a 5K. The class will meet in the aerobics room and then run as a group outside.

    Spin
    A group cycling class designed for the avid exerciser who enjoys group workouts, but does not do traditional aerobic classes. Space is limited! Call WK fitness center one hour prior to class time to sign-up for a bike.

    Step
    A non-stop cardio workout using just the step. Includes choreography from top to bottom! Let your instructors know if you are a beginner.

    Tai Chi
    A health promoting exercise in the Chinese tradition. The flowing, rhythmic movements enhance flexibility of the body and reduce stress.

    Yoga
    Work on your strength and flexibility while putting your mind and body at ease. Relieves stress and increases energy.

  • Water

    Mother/Baby
    Bring your baby! This class is a water aerobics class for a mother and her child up to 3 years old. It will incorporate children's musical games as well as a workout for the mother. You can bring your child as young as you feel comfortable as long as you have your doctors’ permission.

    Water Yoga
    A slow flow yoga class in the water. This class will challenge your balance and flexibility as well as reducing your stress.

    Water 1
    This class is designed for beginners or those with physical limitations. Learn the basics of water aerobics at a slower pace with less impact. Class includes a variety of low-impact cardio moves, muscle toning, and lots of stretching!

    Water 2
    This is a moderate/advanced class. It includes a large variety of high-intense cardio moves, muscular toning with noodles, hand weights, bands, and stretching. Get moving with this fast pace class to improve your cardiovascular and muscular endurance.

    Water 3
    This is an advanced class. It combines aerobic training, muscle toning and flexibility exercises all in one intense workout. Some lap swimming may be included in this workout.
